Childcare

Childcare is an option that pupils can take in Keystage 4. During the two-year course pupils will discuss the importance of good relationships, learn about sex education and contraception and speak to a local practice nurse.
The school own a ‘living doll’ which can be programmed, and pupils are encouraged to take care of this ‘baby’ overnight.
Pupils who take this option will work towards an Entry Level in Child Development, they will learn practicalities of looking after a baby and learn bout child health and the importance of play.
