The points system, which rewards good behaviour, kicks in as soon as you arrive in school, from the minute you hand in your home book on a Monday to when you collect it to take it home on a Friday. The maximum points you can get for a lesson, break or lunch is a five. The same applies during the evening which is split in to different sections. Privileges are different and depend on which league you are in.
The more points = higher league = more privileges.
Rewards are regularly discussed with pupils and they can choose to be allowed to go into Fairford without a member of staff, stay up longer in the evening or get up later in the mornings. If you continue to behave and are in the Premiership, you can write to the Headteacher and ask to go into the Championship with 10 extra privileges; ranging from playing pool in the youth club on your own, being allowed to stay in the Lodge, testing the Go-peds or a ‘manly hug’ from the Headteacher!!
Every year you have a Review which is held with members of the Senior Leadership Team, you and your parents/carers. Your report will have been written by your teachers, care staff and teaching assistant. Your progress at school over the year will be discussed and targets will be set. You will then meet with your Tutor, Teaching Assistant, Care Staff, School Nurse and the Home Liaison Officer to discuss any other issues you or parents/carers may want to raise.
You can earn ‘tokens’ which can be converted into CASH…you gain these by doing chores – helping around the school, sweeping leaves, painting, delivering logs, vegetables etc. You can save your tokens and exchange
them for tuck, cash at the end of the week or an item in the display cabinet in Mrs Rogers’s office.
These are set by your TA/Tutor/Key worker and yourself. You will have a short-term target which is reviewed weekly and a long-term target which is reviewed at the end of the academic year. You will have a target for Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and Behaviour. These are monitored daily and discussed weekly.
